Three Baths for the Upset Baby

Because his routine for eating and sleeping was upset, we ended with an upset little boy. One who would only cool down after a bath.

*~*

He impressed his father's colleagues by eating veggies and dancing a lot and making pa-cute.

A Hard Day

Yakee got so many souvenirs today of his uhm... spiritedness. First, he skinned his right knee at Plaza Dilao while trying to play with the big boys.

Then he was amusing himself by going around in circles and bumped his temple big time on the corner of a cabinet. The bruise is smack dab in the center of his head/hairline.

Then Mommy failed to catch him while he was trying to cling to the stair railings like a monkey, so he hit the floor with the back of his head.

Poor, poor baby.

*~*

We watched SO MUCH of Signing Time videos today. One time, he even got the plug of the player and tried figuring out where to plug it so the video will play. He accidentally knocked the two remotes, looked at me, and proceeded to put them back in place (and stacked too!)

*~*

I know his Crocs slippers are still slightly big for him but because of that fact, he's also able to put them on by himself.

*~*
His Ninangs gifted him with a light basketball and basket ring and he's having a blast making his father shoot baskets while he refuses to let go of his new orange ball.

Yey and Sigh

Yakee ate eggplant today. It's really great that he's into veggies. He also ate mangoes again and shared yogurt with Ice.

*~*

His poop schedule changed again. Now it's in the morning again, after some thirty minutes from waking. Tsk.

*~*

Baby has colds! He woke up several times last night, crying and upset, but would settle back to sleep after I wipe his nose.

Pappie bought an Aqua Nappy for him yesterday and it fits him just right!

Nguso Boy

He insisted on blowing the candle on his cousin's cake

Funny, Scary

Yakee cannot be stopped from standing on things. He'd climb up on adult chairs. He'd stand up on his kiddie chair. He'd stand up on the seat of his toy car. He'd stand up on a table. He'd stand up on the seat of his bike.

*~*

He discovered my stuffed toy Jack-Jack. He loves it. He pronounces jack-Jack as ka-ka though :D

*~*

He rode double with Ice on his car and was feeling hir role as Kuya so much :)

Signing and Talking More

After months and weeks of babbling, it only just occurred to Mommy to record her son's babbling. Sus. Now I have a very clear recording of him saying "Mommy" :)

*~*

I am so happy about Yakee's eating habits. So happy that I allowed him to eat french fries and burger at McDonalds yesterday, and even sip softdrinks (Sprite?) too. Good thing though, he didn't have a lot of those but opted to eat rice and fried chicken the whole party time.

And last Saturday, when I cooked sinigang, he allowed me to feed him easily enough... what's more, he stayed in his seat (albeit standing up) during dinner and was very cooperative while I fed him rice. He fed himself radish from the sinigang. Mommy was truly, truly amazed!

With leafy veggies, he'd chew on them and just spit out the stalks.

Did I say, am proud?

*~*

He wouldn't watch other cartoons though. He insists on Signing Time vids all the time.

*~*

He had fun at Ice's party yesterday. He danced a lot, ran after the bigger boys as if they were playing with him. He even positioned himself right in front of the kids engaged in the party games. And this one time he was asked, with a mic, what the sound of a pusa (cat) makes, he answered accurately enough, "Miyaww".

He was asked again what sound a PIG makes, but just babbled on the mic. But still, Mommy was tres proud!

And of course, he insisted on blowing the candle on the cake :)

Finally, Lolo and Lola

Finally... after many months of attempts, Yakee can sign LOLO and LOLA :) And ABCD seems to be working for him, for us.

Yakee at PPA

Brought Yakee along to PPA as I and former boss visited SPD. Kuya Eden, who loves kids so much, took him to the roofdeck for a pictorial. Yakee later cried because of the afternoon heat. Ahehe.

*~*

Just before we're about to go home though, my brilliant son had to mess with the HOT water dispenser which ended with him crying and his right hand all red. Howell. :)

Dexterity

Apart from answering phones by uncannily imitating his father's "Hello", my boy figured how to use one of the tools in his Shellcore toy set and managed to turn the wheel little by little (it's not the screwdriver that he used eh, the one you supposedly use on bolts?)

*!*

His Ninang Gang is still traumatized by yesterday's episode though. He was watching one of his educational videos, intent and absorbed. So his Ninang went up to get something in our room. Then she heard footsteps behind her and there was Yakee, who climbed the stairs after him. Alone.

He's been climbing stairs for months now, but always with someone watching and following him. Thank God for guardian angels!

Concept of Wrong

Yakee tore up the cover of a book. Ninang Gang told him "Hala..." and he immediately threw the book down and ran. Ninang Gang started calling me, and Yakee began crying, scared.

*~*

After eating lunch, he still kept on asking me for fish from my plate. Then he ate up one medium-sized potato from Ninang Gang's plate. Then he danced and danced and danced. Then he begged for cookies. Then he cried and banged his toy phone a lot, because he was already sleepy.

Scary boy!

Yakee and March

He loves using a microphone and would even cry using one. And he was really spoiled and attended on at Momsy's yesterday, where he ate everything that Yaya gave him.

He can even sit himself properly on a big monoblock chair in front of the organ and would sometimes actually 'play' music, instead of just banging on the piano keys. He's using more signs now without prompting (like more, eat, hurts, Mommy and all the animal signs). He even knows the sign for 'vampire', thanks to the deaf Amazing Race contestant.

And he really loves strawberry-flavored ice cream or yogurt. Just like his Pappie. And he is really babbling/talking more which absolutely delights everyone.

Sudden Fever

After attending a birthday party yesterday, hubs and I took our son grocery shopping for a while. On the way home, he suddenly grew quiet... and then started running a fever.

His fever reached up to 40 last night, and broke at around 12. He didn't have fever anymore till past 8 this morning, then got one again at past 10. Ugh.

Good thing he's a trooper now in taking his meds... I just don't know though if he'd be as good with antibiotics, which he might require. Am worried the fever might be because of his new infected bites. Tsk.
